Plus, you are allowed to preview each font by displaying preset or custom text messages. If you have multiple fonts installed on your system and scattered around different places, FontAgent Pro helps you unite all available fonts into a single panel. A help manual is also available in case you have any questions about the setup process. However, rookies may need to invest extra time into decoding the feature package. It is pretty easy to get used to configuring FontAgent Pro’s settings if you have previously worked with a font manager. You are welcomed by a clean feature skeleton that reveals a list with all fonts detected on your system. I am trying to deploy the Acrobat Pro 8.2.5 patch to my group of Macintosh computers running OS 10.6.4 (with all security patches in place).FontAgent Pro is a font manager that allows you to view, compare, and export the fonts deployed on your system. They also run CS3, Office 2008, FontAgent Pro 4, QuarkXPress 6.5 and Trend Micro Security.
I packed it the way I normally do, through JAMF Software Composer 7.21 and set it up to run through Apple Remote Desktop while the machines are at login screen after hours.
After installing the update and launching Acrobat Pro 8.2.5 everything seems fine until you launch another CS3 program like Adobe Photoshop. When that is done, they get the error, “Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot be launched at this time. You must launch at least one other suite component (such as Adobe Photoshop) before launching Acrobat 8 Professional.” I have packaged other Adobe patches through Composer, ran them through ARD without any problems. I though this was a problem with the package created through Composer but it is not. I downloaded the Adobe Acrobat 8.2.5 Professional update - multiple languages update again from Adobe’s site and still get the error above.
In the system requirements, it says it is for Mac OS X v10.4.11 - 10.5.5, I know. It said the same thing for the last nightmare update of 8.2.4 but it worked on Mac OS 10.6.4 after they fixed the first flawed patch. The fixes for it on Adobe’s website does not work, which is here: Fontagent pro windows 10 mac os# Option 1 does not work and option 2 gets Acrobat 8 working but when I launch Photoshop I get the error, “Licensing for this product has stopped working. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.” Obviously I can’t use option 2. When I uninstall Acrobat 8 via Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional/Acrobat Uninstaller and then reinstall it I get stuck on the update of Acrobat 8.1.6. The patch has failed because the application has been modified since it was originally installed (for example, plug-ins may have been disabled).
Please go to the Adobe support website for more information regarding how to re-enable disabled components prior to installing the patch.
Or, you can install and reinstall the application, and then reinstall the patch." Doing what it says on Adobe’s website is once again of no help, here: Fontagent pro windows 10 how to# I can’t find anything on the web to fix this issue.ġ. How do I get past the the Adobe Acrobat 8.1.5 update to get to 8.2.4, and hopefully soon, 8.2.5? How do I get the Acrobat 8.2.5 Professional update to install successfully?Ģ. I am trying to find a better solution for managing Adobe updates in a Macintosh Enterprise environment. Is there a way we can silently deploy Acrobat patches without repackaging the installer and is there a way a to uninstall or fix a deployed problem patch like the Windows environment? Is there anything like Wise Packaging Studio for the Mac? I am familiar with Composer but it just doesn’t have all the options I am looking for.As a freelance copyeditor, I routinely work with files created elsewhere. Lately, even though I seemingly have the correct fonts installed, they will not display properly, most of the time appearing as Courier.
